HOW TO MEMORIZE YOUR SPEECH (Highlights No 010 with Ron Tsang)

TAG

So in "Presentation to Standing Ovation" I talk about how the memory palace can help you memorize your thoughts So a lot of people struggle with being able to speak without reading off their notes Whether you're a podcaster for the Real Academy or whether you're a YouTuber Or you're an entrepreneur ready to give your pitch to a group of investors or prospective clients or even your own employees, your staffers And one powerful technique that can help you memorize your thoughts before you speak is the Memory Palace Technique.

The Memory Palace Technique If you can visualize What you want to say as symbols as pictures and place them in a familiar environment your home.

your office.

and your neighbourhood And if you can picture yourself after you planted these visual representations of your talk of your sentence.

Of each idea Walk through your home Walk through your office Walk thought your neighbourhood You see these objects that you placed that should help trigger a sequence of your memory of what you wanted to say So MJ what if we were to break down that introduction into 3 elements You're an artist, so you can easily visualize something If you can symbolize a meaning or a message related to the first sentence.

So maybe it's Eat your apples or eat your fruits So maybe you picture an apple.

And you're walking through your condo And it's where you leave your shoes.

So by your shoes is an apple And you walk to your kitchen and the next thing is "Eat your vegetables" So there's a BIG carrot Big apple.

Big carrot.

And then you walk in your bedroom and it's "Drink lot of water" So there's a big jug of water on your bed So it's very easy, as you typically walk through your condo You'll take off your shoes.

Then you go to your kitchen.

Then you go to bed.

So then, as you continue through that sequence Remember : Apple or fruit.

Vegetable in the kitchen Then drink your water.

That's it.

Your memory palace is a visualization that help you remember the key messages in your talk.

The memory palace is a 3 step process: You have to first identify what it is you want to remember Turn that in some kind of a visual or symbolic representation.

That's the first part.

The second part is to picture your home or your office or your neighbourhood A place that you know very well.

You can visualize yourself walking through Almost like playing a videogame You're going through that environment You can see yourself And the third part is placing those objects in a path that you normally walk So you walk though this path and you're triggered.

"Oh yeah : 1-2-3.

Apple – Fruit(Vegetable) and water.
